The Howlin' Wolf Trophy

Event Description

The aim of the event is to drive your vehicle to various points within the competition site, the location of which will be indicated on the day.  

In addition there may also be special tasks at certain locations which are worth extra points.  These may take the form of driving, mental or physical tasks.

The winner will be the vehicle which has attained the highest points score at the end of the competition. Trophies will be awarded to the driver & co-driver of the 1st, 2nd & 3rd placed vehicles in each class.

The event will be for individual vehicles, each of which must carry one driver and one co-driver who must be club members and all drivers must have current UK or recognised International driving licences. All entrants must be aged 16 or over.

Drivers must have joined the Challenge Register prior to entering. Number boards will be issued at the  first event you enter and these must be displayed at each event throughout the year.

Vehicles must comply with the AWDC Challenge Technical Regulations.

Event Timetables will be published in the Club's Fixture Sheet at least one month in advance.

CLASSES

Class 1: Unlimited Modifications. Vehicles do not need to be taxed for road use and may be equipped with any combination of winch AND diff locks. Vehicles are not required to have a mechanical link between the steering wheel and the steered wheels.

Class 2: Modified. Vehicles must be taxed for road use and may be equipped with one or more of the following: Multiple winches, Front and/or rear diff locks

Class 3: Limited Modifications. Vehicles must be taxed for road use and may be equipped with one winch. Traction aids may only be used if original factory fitted equipment

CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING

This is an internal club championship series of eight events. Championship points will be issued for each event based on the following system: 100 points to the highest scoring finisher, 99 to the second etc.

The winners will be awarded the Howlin' Wolf Trophy  at the club's 2009 AGM.

Prizes will also be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each class. No competitor may win more than one prize. In the event of a tie, the competitor with the highest score at the final round will be the winner.
